something not right?

Tell us what happened and we'll write back.

support@playminuet.comIf it's a bug, it helps enormously to include your iPhone model, your iOS version, and what you were doing when it went wrong.

Questions we get

Does Minuet need an internet connection?

No. The metronome, the tuner, your practice history and recording all work with the phone in aeroplane mode. The only part that needs a connection is the skin store, because buying goes through Apple.

Where do my recordings live?

On your iPhone, and nowhere else. They're included in your device backup if you make one, so a phone-to-phone transfer brings them along. Nothing is uploaded to us — there's nowhere to upload it to.

I got a new phone. How do I get my skins back?

Go to Custom → My Skins → Restore purchases. Your purchases are tied to your Apple Account, so as long as you're signed in with the same one they'll come back. There's no charge for this and no time limit.

How do I delete a recording?

Open the piece and delete the take from there — that removes just that one. If you want to clear out everything at once, Settings → Storage deletes all of a piece's takes together, which is the fast way to reclaim space but not the way to remove a single bad run.

The tuner says the wrong note for my instrument.

It's probably right, and you're probably playing a transposing instrument. Set your instrument in Tune and Minuet will show you the note you're reading alongside the concert pitch it actually sounds — a trumpet's written C reads as C, with Concert B♭ underneath it.

What's the drone for?

Holding a reference pitch while you tune to it by ear. Play your note against it and listen for the wobble; the slower the wobble, the closer you are. It's how the tuning gets into your ear rather than just onto a screen.

Why does it ask for the microphone twice?

It doesn't ask twice — it uses the microphone for two different things, and tells you which one is listening. The tuner listens to work out the note. Recording listens to keep the take. Nothing is captured unless you've started one of the two.

What does it cost?

The app is free, and everything you need to practise is in it. Skins are optional one-time purchases that change how it looks. There's no subscription and nothing you use is behind a paywall.

Will a skin I bought ever disappear?

No. Once a skin is released it stays in the store permanently, and once you've bought it it's yours to re-download whenever you like.

Can I get a refund?

Apple handles every purchase and every refund. Ask at reportaproblem.apple.com. If something was broken, please tell us as well — a refund fixes your afternoon, but only a bug report fixes the app.

I have an idea for Minuet.

Send it. Small apps change based on what the people using them actually run into, and most of what's in Minuet arrived that way.
